24-month postdoctoral fellowship in comparative brown algal genomics/Post doctorat : 24 mois Projet AlgAnnot : Génomique comparative des macro algues brunes
A 24-month postdoctoral fellowship is available in the Analysis and Bioinformatics for Marine Science (ABiMS, Station Biologique de Roscoff, Brittany, France) in comparative brown algal genomics.
Subject: The brown algae remain poorly characterised at the genome level compared with other major eukaryotic groups such as land plants and animals. To learn more about the biology of this group of organisms, the Station Biologique de Roscoff, in collaboration with Genoscope and an international consortium, has initiated a project to generate complete genome sequences for 41 diverse brown algal species and four sister groups. The sequencing phase of this project is almost complete and the assembled and annotated genomes are currently being generated. The postdoctoral fellow will be involved in the analysis of these genome sequences, using comparative genomics approaches to characterise gene families associated with key biological features of brown algae. The analysis will focus particularly on genes that are likely to play a regulatory role such as transcription factors, signalling molecules and chromatin regulators. There will be scope within the project to adapt the objectives to take advantage of the past experience of the selected candidate. The post is jointly financed by the Brittany Region and by the "Agence Nationale de la Recherche" project Idealg.

Kelp association genetics and breeding for sustainable aquaculture
A two-year postdoctoral research position is immediately available at the Roscoff Marine Laboratory in France (http://www.sb-roscoff.fr/en/laboratory-integrative-biology-marine-models).
Applicants must hold a PhD and have a good background in quantitative genetics and breeding and experience with the use of molecular biology approaches (i.e. generating large-scale RAD-seq data for SNP development) and bioinformatics tools applied to gene association studies. Specific experience with seaweed genetics and culture would be a plus but is not essential.
Salary: 2000 € to 2500€ per month (net) depending on experience.
Applications should include a detailed CV including a description of research experience, relevant publications and contact information for at least two persons that can provide references. Applications will be accepted until the 4th of July, 2018 and selected candidates will be interviewed from the 9th to the 13th of july 2018 for a projected recruitment in September.

Sous l’autorité du Responsable de la plateforme aquaculture mer du site de Beg-Meil, vous piloterez le projet Perle 2 pour les tâches de ce projet confiées à Agrocampus Ouest. Vous aurez donc pour mission de produire des familles
d’huîtres plates, c’est-à-dire procéder au contrôle de la maturation sexuelle des géniteurs, conduire les élevages larvaires et d’assurer le succès de la phase de fixation et de micronurserie.
Dans le cadre de cette mission, vous assurerez le suivi administratif, financier et scientifique du projet, mettrez en oeuvre les protocoles de sélection construits dans le cadre du projet. Appuyé par un technicien, vous assurerez le bon suivi des expérimentations et rédigerez les rapports scientifiques et administratifs pour les financeurs.

PHD position (2 years and possibly longer)
In marine natural product chemistry in the research unit Marine Natural Products Chemistry at GEOMAR Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research Kiel.
The post-holder will do chemical profiling/dereplication, extraction, isolation and structure elucidation of bioactive natural products from marine macro organism and micro-organisms (bacteria & fungi). Good knowledge in metabolomics and HRMS/MS based molecular networks are also desired. The candidate should/will learn imaging mass spectrometry (DESI-IMS) techniques available in our own labs.
